Curry led his depleted team into Game 3 of the NBA Finals as the only serious scoring threat on the Warriors. And despite being the complete and total focal point of Torontos defense, Curry set a personal postseason record, with 47 points. It wasnt enough. The Warriors lost 123-109. And now the Raptors have taken a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series ...
He scored almost half the Warriors points. Curry only had one foul and two turnovers in 43 minutes to go with the 47 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two turnovers. In the ugly, messy first quarter, Curry scored 17 points. He made or assisted on nine of the Warriors ten baskets. Throughout the game, he even had several hockey assists - the assist to the assist.
He kept finding his teammates, but they usually couldnt find the basket. Their shooting percentages were ugly.
The Warriors are fiercely protective of Curry because they know that, without him, none of this happens. Not the winning, but also not the culture, not the joy, not the entire Warriors experience.
Hes brilliant. But hes also tough and determined and gave everything he had. But it wasnt enough. Because the Raptors scouting report was correct: he really cant do it alone.

(34,195 posts)Stephen Curry, who has been with the Oakland-based Warriors for his entire NBA career, has taken the time to show love to the citys residents throughout the season. In January, he surprised 250 Oakland students with a new pair of Under Armours Curry 6 sneakers.
Now, as the Warriors prepare to end their season, Curry surprised 30 additional people who have contributed to his success with another special edition of his Curry 6 sneakers, this time emblazoned with the words, Thank You, Oakland.
The recipients range from team owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber to Currys driver Chip Varela. Additionally, his former personal security guard Ralph Walker, Oracle Arena security guard Curtis Jones and barber Yusef Wright also received the shoes.
This year, 2019, will be the Warriors last year in Oakland.
