Free agent DeMarcus Cousins has agreed to a deal with the Golden State Warriors, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo. The deal is for one year and $5.3 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Warriors are coming off yet another championship, and hardly need the services of one of the more coveted players still available on the open market, but with the West increasing in strength around them, theyve made a move that will surely make a lot of non-Warriors fans angry.

(9,367 posts)It is not that I did not think the Warriors were goong after big free agents; it is just that I thought Cousins was going to L.A. when I saw the first part of your post I thoight the rest was going to say Lakers. Wow.

(5,737 posts)Boogie has to get over the torn Achilles. No NBA player with that injury has ever returned to where they were before it. He din't want to share the spotlight with Anthony Davis, so he left. Now he has an entire team to be jealous of.

(58,018 posts)smooth move. He's coming off injury and won't play again until December or January but the Warriors should be ok until then.
He should be back for the stretch run of the season and the playoffs.
The Dubs keep pulling smart moves by catching other teams hesitating. Any other team could've taken the chance on Cousins but they didn't so Golden State got another big time player for bargain money.

(17,637 posts)The Warriors, the team that people claim broke basketball with their incredibly stacked roster, broke it again on Monday when they signed DeMarcus Cousins, a four-time NBA All-Star for just $5.3 million.
Cousins is recovering from a torn left Achilles and is not expected back until late in the regular season, but if he regains even a small portion of his pre-injury greatness, the Warriors have indeed made an absolutely ridiculous move that should have the ever-improving West shook.
There have been plenty of reactions right out of the gate, and many of them are great. Lets start with Joel Embiid, frequent Tweeter of Things.
