Notre Dame women's basketball vs Florida State final score: Seminoles upset Irish at home
Two of the nation's top offenses squared off Thursday in a pivotal ACC women's basketball regular-season contest that had significant conference tournament seeding implications.
Neither team's offense disappointed, but that wasn't the biggest storyline to come out of this one.
That headline would belong to Ta'Niya Latson and No. 24 Florida State (23-6, 13-4 in ACC play), who went into Purcell Pavilion and handed Hannah Hidalgo and No. 4 Notre Dame back-to-back ACC losses for the first time since 2021.
Florida State made some program history with its first win in South Bend, Indiana. The Seminoles also have now won back-to-back road games against ranked opponents for the first time, per the ACC Network broadcast.
The loss now ties Notre Dame with NC State for first place in the ACC standings at 15-2 in conference play. The Wolfpack defeated the Irish on Feb. 23 in double-overtime thanks to lockdown defense in the final extra period.
