IOWA CITY, Iowa – In its two losses this season, the Iowa women’s basketball team has combined to commit 53 turnovers.
Iowa had 30 turnovers in a 78-68 loss to Tennessee on Dec. 7 in New York City, and then had similar struggles in Sunday’s Big Ten opener at Michigan State, committing 23 turnovers in a 68-66 loss.
Two games in which turnovers ultimately led to Iowa’s doom hardly is a trend, or even a pattern at this stage.
But it is something that will have to be addressed moving forward, and it will be addressed by first-year head coach Jan Jensen.

(11,726 posts)I'm no longer a Tennessee fan since they hired Kim Caldwell. I think she's a flash in the pan, very unproven in D-I, but we'll see. One season in D-I does not a proven winner make.
I am a big fan of WBB in general and James Madison in particular since moving to Harrisonburg. Turnovers is something our coach has addressed a lot recently and especially with the current team. In the last game against Villanova, the Dukes had only 12 TOs while Villanova had 15. That's a whole lot better than 30!
And thank you, RandySF, for posting about WBB! I appreciate it, whether anyone else does or not. Keep it up.

As to Iowa and turnovers

So yeah, it's a problem. But I like Jensen so I hope she can fix the problem.
