Michigan State women's basketball defeats DePaul for best start in program history

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan State women’s basketball program has been playing for over 50 years, but this year’s team etched its name in the history books on Sunday.

With an 89-61 win over DePaul, the Spartans improved to 9-0, which gives them the best record to start a season in program history.

Head coach Robyn Fralick said she was informed after the game about her team entering the program record book and discussed it with her team after the win.

“I think as a coach, if you look at your schedule and you said after nine games where you’d want to be, I think you’d say 9-0,” she said. “So I think it’s just a small part of the story, but it’s where we want to be.”
