'His time's going to come': Aussie WNBA star throws support behind Pacers rookie

Johnny Furphy seemingly came out of nowhere last season, emerging as a college basketball star for Kansas and a bona fide NBA Draft prospect.

As the draft rolled around, Furphy did indeed hear his name called, taken with the 35th pick by the Indiana Pacers.

But after a slow rookie season hampered by injury, fellow Australian and WNBA star Bec Allen has offered support to the 19-year-old....

Speaking on NBA Australia's Courtside Huddle, current Phoenix Mercury starter and nine-year WNBA veteran Bec Allen said she sees Furphy's success coming soon, and urged him to remain consistent mentally as he learns the league.

"A lot has changed, hasn't it? That's when he has to make sure he really leans on his support network throughout all that," Allen said.
