Young, but experienced UT Martin women's basketball team prioritizing health in summer

MARTIN, Tenn. -- Just under five months ago, UT Martin women's basketball competed in their first NCAA tournament in 9 years. Now, the Skyhawks are wrapping up summer ball looking to go dancing again in 2024-25.

The young Skyhawks went 16-17 last season, 11-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference. They'll be young again this year, boasting 9 newcomers, while returning the majority of their major contributors from last season.

Last year, the Skyhawks had one senior. This year, they have three.

"They're trying to feel their way out in the summer and trying to figure out where do I fit in the world?" McMillan said of the newcomers. "It's kind of trying to get those kids to go ahead and take some initiative, push themselves."
