Cameron Brink's jaw-dropping outfit could give insight to her ACL recovery timetable

Los Angeles Sparks center Cameron Brink is making notable strides in her recovery from a torn ACL, which she suffered during the first half of her rookie season in the WNBA. Brink, 22, appears to be ahead of schedule in her rehabilitation journey, as evidenced by her pregame appearance on Friday night.

In a game against the Connecticut Sun on June 18, Brink sustained a severe non-contact injury that initially left her unable to walk without assistance. Medical evaluations later confirmed that she had torn her ACL, an injury that required surgical intervention and sidelined her for the remainder of the season. The surgery took place by June 25, with Brink updating fans via social media, showing herself on crutches and wearing a compression sleeve.

Recovery timelines for ACL injuries vary, and each athlete's rehabilitation process is unique. However, Brink's recent public appearance suggests she is progressing well. During the Sparks' overtime victory over the Las Vegas Aces, Brink was seen without a knee brace and sporting boots with heels-a positive indicator of her recovery. Despite this, she did later put on a heavy brace after the photo opportunity, but her mobility on the sidelines was promising.

While Brink will not return to the court this season, her ability to move comfortably and without significant support less than three weeks post-surgery is an encouraging sign. Fans and team members alike are optimistic about her continued progress and eventual return to play.
