UConn, WNBA legend Diana Taurasi addresses Olympics, family, her career and more

PHOENIX — After winning three national championships at UConn, Diana Taurasi went on to have one of the most prolific careers in women’s professional basketball, but it’s not over yet.

Since being drafted first overall in 2004, Taurasi has played for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, where she has won three championships. Taurasi is also a five-time Olympic gold medalist, representing USA Basketball.

Currently in her 20th WNBA season and approaching her sixth Olympic Games, Taurasi recently spoke with Familia by PARENTS for the article “WNBA All-Star Diana Taurasi Leans Into the Tough Stuff, at Home and on the Court.”

Taurasi, 42, is an 11-time WNBA All-Star who won the league’s Most Valuable Player award in 2009. She has also spent time playing for a variety of teams overseas during the WNBA’s offseason. In the interview with Familia by PARENTS, Taurasi said the highlight of her career has been playing for only one WNBA franchise.
