There was no ad-libbing. The script was so good that they stuck to it.
The best scene is the argument between Berle and Terry Thomas. Lend-lease vs. Bosoms.

A veritable smorgasbord of who who's 40'-50's comedians plus, as if that needed any help, PLUS Spencer Tracy! As many times as I see this great movie I still lol at more than one scene. Non stop fun from JImmy Durante "kicking the bucket" to Ethel Mermans final slip on that banana peel.
