(sorry to be sarcastic about such a tragedy. But ridicule of the NRA types is one way to start beating down this culture of gun-humping that treats the deaths of little children as "collateral damage".)

I can't for the life of me understand why DAs don't press charges more often. If a parent were DUI with their kid and got the child killed they'd be charged, and it's certainly no more deliberate than unsafe firearms storage.
