Jordan Davis Murder Trial - Accused will use Justifiable Use of Deadly Force
This is posted in the Gun Control Reform Activism Grouphttp://www.cnn.com/2014/02/05/justice/florida-loud-music-murder-trial/
I'm keeping a running thread in the African American group on the nuances of the trial - but I find this interesting.
If you've kept up with the case - then you know Dunn (the accused) is claiming he was in a kill or be killed situation.
During his interrogation he said he saw a gun (stick?) and suggested to the the interrogators that perhaps the other vehicle dumped it when they drove off.
I'm wondering that if this statement is allowed in - if Angela Corey (this is the same D.A. from the Trayvon Martin killing trial) is even going to allow her team to have the fact that the other car - the one the murdered kid was in never even drove off?
I don't know - I know there has been a lot of relating/comparison of this to the Martin case - but Trayvon's killer used Stand Your Ground.
This killer's attorney seems to be taking a different tactic to prove 'state of mind' and purpose for pulling his gun.
Thoughts from the group as to why they are taking this approach? What am I missing here?

(54,770 posts)1. Gotta love Dunn's former attorney, "I believe Dunn acted as any responsible gun owner"
in that situation.
Yeah, he acted exactly how so-called responsible gun owners would act - pulled his gun, fired for no reason at black teenagers, fled scene, made up a BS story.
I believe a lot of so-called responsible gun owners are one confrontation away from similar tragedies.

would likely clarify the "state of mind" issue: Would Dunn have shot into a car full of white teenagers playing loud music?

confederate flags, and such.
