El Paso Walmart shooting: Multiple people dead, police say
Multiple people are dead and three people are in custody after a shooting Saturday morning at an El Paso, Texas Walmart, according to authorities.
"We're searching multiple scenes, but primarily the Walmart," said Sgt. Enrique Carrillo of the El Paso Police Department, pointing to a nearby mall as another area of focus. "There is not an imminent threat. There is no active shooter currently."
Mayor Dee Margo told CNN three people are in custody, but he did not give a number of victims.
"This is a tragedy we would have never ever thought would happen in El Paso," he said.

"Would never happen in El Paso?" Why would he think that one wonders, when anyplace in this country is a potential shooting gallery fueled by right-wing, MAGA Trumpster, sociopath Republican, NRA, 2nd Amendment Absolutist, love-it-ot-leave-it, terroristic, incel assholes.
People are NOT killed by guns -- people are killed by idiotic, fanatical people with guns.

(14,502 posts)5. The story you referenced now says 1 person in custody.
I'm not sure if that's an update:
EL PASO, Texas Multiple people are dead and one person is in custody after a shooting Saturday morning at an El Paso, Texas Walmart, according to authorities.
ETA: I think it is an update. It also says:
Mayor Dee Margo had said earlier that three people were in custody, but police now say they only have one. He said additional information will be provided when it is available. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies from the state and federal levels are assisting in the investigation.

(31,514 posts)6. But guns make it a helluva lot easier to kill lots of people quickly.
