I was wondering if anyone here has tried depression treatment with psychedelics - ketamine, high dose cannabis or psilocybin? I'm at the end of my rope with traditional medications. I have used every type of antidepressant alone and in combinations.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I took the plunge a started treatment with IV ketamine in May and for me, it's been pretty great. I had my first 6 treatments in Houston, then SUDDENLY got a new job in Albuquerque so I had to just throw the belongings I could into my little SUV and GO.
But I found a new doctor in Santa Fe who got me back up to speed with 3 IV sessions and now I'm doing treatment at home with sublingual lozenges.

Just because your depressed right now doesn't mean you'll always be depressed. The Book Feeling Good is a very well written book about thinking distortions. We tend to base how we feel about things into thinking. The book was found to be as effective as taking antidepressants. It's like the number one of all time. Don't beat yourself up because you're on this website. You're a hero and an active DUer! Also Alcohol and drugs don't help much as well. I do have a friend though that micro doses mushrooms every day and it does help him. Sleeping 8 hours day , going for walks , and being kind to yourself also help. In the book you will get very good feel for how the human mind tricks itself into feeling worse about things than they really are. I also found an app for your phone called WYSA. you can tell an AI Bot your problems and it offers suggestions.
Hope I'm helping you

Also check out Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. You can google it and do it yourself. A way of changing negative thought patterns. Or you can find a therapist that uses it. Just google it again and that person can get you started. No long time session about all of your past experiences. Just a simple way to make positive changes in your outlook.
I got started in Radical Behaviorism back in the 90s. I was so nuts I went to college to major in clinical psychology. Later it became Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Much better and useful.
I have found that straying busy and exercise are great for me. Walked 4 miles today and yesterday. Seems to get rid of my aches and pains. 75 years old and they can add up.
