Help! Pasting correct image URL into my posts, but the image is not showing up.

I'm copying the URL directly from the online image and pasting it into the post.

Has something changed about how to do this?

If it doesn't end with .jpg, you may have problems.

5. Here's the link broken into 2 parts so you can see it:

I put a line break after "images/" so that you can see the URL.

Usually replacing the offending character w/HTML takes care of the problem. Not this time.

Sometimes I've been able to substitute another character -- only w/apostrophes, carats, commas or single quotes is the text even visible, but then it doesn't link. It's not a hyphen, ndash, mdash, or minus sign!

Note that the first hyphen is fine -- so what's the second hyphen ??

The kind of security certificates required to avoid such warnings are expensive, with the result that a whole lot of perfectly harmless sites are labelled as security risks.

I almost always blow past those warnings and have never yet experienced any security problem by doing so. It seems mainly like another way for big corps. funnel traffic toward their own sites away from smaller players.
