(19,179 posts)that you will never remember for your new password, and before you sign out, go through all of your posts in "my posts" and self delete them.
if you don't want your past posts to be seen, this is really the only way to do it. I don't believe accounts are deleted upon request. With approximately 1,900 posts it will take a bit of time, but it's not impossible to do.
Done.
Good luck and best wishes.

(27,117 posts)If you get a total of 5 posts deleted in 90 days, your account will either be flagged for review or posting privilege revoked, which means you're effectively banned. They won't remove your posts though. If you want your posts gone, you can manually delete them, even if it will take awhile.
question everything

(1,983 posts)I'd have done it myself and left, without "declaring". I'm just asking a question.

(1,983 posts)I'm not making any declaration and writing any goodbye post. Why is everyone so gratuitously cruel? Just leave me alone.

(1,983 posts)And people immediately taunted me for it. Why is the world like this? Why do we jump to hurt each other for no benefit to ourselves?
This is a site for Democrats. And we're still being nasty to each other, just for fun. Why?

(14,602 posts)One day, about 3 yrs ago, I get a message my security info was breached. Others have, as have I since, posted similar in the lounge. Unlucky me, Isomehow draw the attention of two assholes here who start taunting me. I don't know why. They were getting so nasty towards me, a fellow member, by two supposed liberals. I deleted my post. I still see one on here sometimes. I forgot the other schmucks username.
Maybe just walk away for awhile and not stress over deleting everything. Feel better

(120,662 posts)wonderful mental health support forum, check out some of the other non-political forums on this site, or stop, for the moment at least, engaging with things, places, people, that upset you.
Whatever help or support you need,, Ii hope you find it.

(5,630 posts)Past similar threads suggest messaging EarlG directly.
I've never seen a definitive answer or reply from admins though, so who knows for sure.
There should be a clear way to delete one's account and all comments if the need or desire arises, especially now with the incoming fascist regime threatening retribution to it's adversaries. Or if one just decides to rage quit, to each their own, the reason shouldn't matter.
It would be nice if the issue were clearly and definitively addressed one day, as this topic has come up here several times before. If it has ever been properly responded to directly by admins, I have missed that, and would appreciate a link directing me to the official answer.
Barring a thorough removal of your account and content by admins, you could always try self-sabotage by violating the TOS, though I wouldn't recommend that. Better would be to reset your password to something impossible to remember, then forget it. Of course that still leaves your account and all content in place for public view, and the possibility that it may someday fall into the hands of bad actors, or otherwise be used against you. I can't imagine the effort it would take to try deleting each post individually, especially with a high-post account.
Until and unless a self-removal option is provided by DU admins, this question will continue to arise.
Whatever you decide to do, good luck!
