DU Community Help
Related: About this forumThere is a post in the Lounge from mvd. I know posters have tried to help him with it getting no where. However, a "new"
poster has gone to one of his GoFundMe accounts and got his private information.---last name, location of home, Dad's obituary, names of relatives, Said poster posted she/he has done this. Is this permitted or a privacy issue? The issue is taking his mom to the ER for her wrist. New poster has 105 posts. I would hate for anyone to go through anyone's background here on DU.

(38,425 posts)way too invested in mvd's situation. I know he has an elderly mother that has fallen and hurt her wrist. Sorry, I have seen posters banned for saying less then this. new poster is. And under the TOS there is a part that talks about privacy.

(38,425 posts)GFM --Address, Obituary of house. relatives, milage from house to ER and Critical Care Center. I wonder why the poster is so invested in this. GFM does not give out that information. Would you want that information of yours in the hands of other. they went searching for it?

On edit:
I think I found the posts in question. It looks like the other poster (the one alerted on by OP) said that they looked up some of the "targeted" poster's personal information, but I don't see where they posted any of said information here on DU. In that case, I don't see how the posts break DU rules.

I don't know if what the OP is referring to meets these criteria, but it sounds like it.
Don't post anyone's private or personal information
Don't post private or personal information about any person (including public figures) even if that information is available elsewhere on the Internet.

(11,940 posts)the long time posters, had gone way back in their history and discussing old posts. I am very leary of some of the new ones here, they seem to want to control the narrative.

(38,425 posts)post back. Way too much to be new. Either a retread or a puppet. I alert twice. --nothing. I agree with what they are saying about mvd's mom. However, I would NOT like it if personal information based on my real last name is was googled for research as this poster told me she/he did. TY for listening to my rant.
