Now take your apologetics to a site where they might be accepted - like World Bnei Akiva and their Lahava political party.

(2,436 posts)It is a desire to take death off the table when death is exalted as noble.
Not unlike the motive to abolish the death penalty in favor of a life sentence of prison rape as somehow more just.

(3,747 posts)Period. There might be other things too, but this is clearly an issue of advocating violence against women, which is almost the exact defenition of harmful misogyny. It's not that hard to figure out.

(8,170 posts)My, how liberal of you.

(2,436 posts)It's a blatant attempt to raise the stakes by impressing upon those persons prepared to die with a consequence worse than death.
I'm not agreeing with it. I'm simply explaining the desperation from which the suggestion springs.

(8,170 posts)You are being misogynistic and a rape apologist and a political apologist for inexcusable opinions.

(2,436 posts)In his warped mind, what deterring effect can the threat of raping men have to people who accept such behavior?
How do you frighten someone who says "So what?"

(8,170 posts)Essentially you seemed decide that as you could not counter my arguments in the Israel/Palestine thread you would try to do so here by falsely belittling rape, by declaring this man's primitive nonsense as understandable and now saying that you were trying to add context. People do not need a context to interpret a rape threat - it is always unacceptable.

(2,436 posts)He was being critical of societies which call themselves civilized but which nevertheless tolerate harrassment of women.
Thanks! Not nitpicking, just getting to know you and Diderot.

(110,159 posts)think of all the other ways he could have come up with a "punishment". yet, always.... always, it is rape girls and women. THAT is your patriarchal (instilled) misogyny (dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.)

(26,605 posts)What else could you possibly call violence against women? I think you are not only posting in the wrong group, but on the wrong site. Liberals and progressive thinkers do not in any way condone calls to violence against women, people of color, or LBGT.
The quote in the OP is disgusting.
