How does anyone in good conscience visit or do business with Dubai?
Slavery of all kinds goes on there constantly. When will the world stop ignoring it?

(29,911 posts)God almighty, this is hideous. Just when you think the world couldn't be
worse for women, especially those in poor countries. I so hope they get the help they need.
I'd donate in a nanosecond if I knew of an agency who would reach

I do give to an organization called International Justice Mission. They work
to free enslaved people, mostly sex trafficked girls...They started in India and have
now moved as far afield as Brazil, so I would imagine they would be aware of this incident, but I'm
going to go to their website to be sure.

It's not surprising that such malevolent, degrading practices exist freely in a city ruled by hereditary patriarchal monarchs.
I have been traveling recently, and many of the airports and major metro stations were full of advertising imploring people to "come to Dubai". Coincidentally, I took this picture below, of one of these Dubai posters in Union Station in Chicago, last Saturday.
Thank you for your post to help raise awareness of what a totally evil place Dubai is.
