Very few popular forums online are as closely moderated in terms of the use of such language as DU is. Not all are as over-the-top as, say, 4chan, but you still read words like those quite commonly. I think that's produced a degree of desensitization in a lot of people, and that leads to greater use of those terms.

It is very hard for a long term DUer to be PPRd--especially if it is "only" for misogyny ( ) and most are careful not to step over the line in other areas, where the tolerance is far less.
