Drone spotted hovering over west Oakland - No word on who it belongs to or what it was doing - http://bit.ly/11ysGUp

On February 8th, 2013 at 3:50 pm a drone was sighted hovering above a neighborhood in West Oakland. There didn't seem to be a focus, it just maintained it's position above properties. It is not known at this point what agency or individual was operating the craft.

High tech firms all over the place. So-called drones are iconic geek hardware.

High school kids all over the world are hacking them together with off the shelf stuff for next to no cost. One guy sent a balloon into near space over the UK for a couple hundred bucks.

This tech is inexpensive, ubiquitous, and fairly easy to implement.

There will be no stopping this.
