[KBS전주] 국악한마당 // 하윤주, 이아름 - 오래된 정원
The setting for the performance by Ha Yoon-ju (vocal) and Lee A-reum (25 string gayageum) is the Mireuksa temple in Iksan, Jeallobukdo (province). The site which is a national treasure of Korea dates back to the Baekje kingdom (18 BC 660 AD).
I dont know who wrote the song. I tried to translate.
오래된 정원 Ancient Garden
Wind eddies around some stone wall
Hanging vines flutter in the wind
Old moss is lodged above a stone lamp
In a deep canyon, mountain birds rest and take flight
ah, ah, ah, ah
In the misty ancient garden, white flowers bloom
I walk alone in bright moonlight
The breeze brushes past the foothills
In the front garden the whispering wind plays
As though the old owner had passed by
It seems pleasant news is on the way
ah, ah, ah, ah
In the misty ancient garden, white flowers bloom
I walk alone in bright moonlight

I was browsing my old Korean song files late last night, looking for this song. it seemed I hadn't posted this. I translated it last year. All the elements of the performance come together well. Appreciate this group where I can share.

(59,727 posts)3. Yes the instrument being played and the vocalist are one.
That doesn't often happen.
And the mood of the song fits perfectly with the lyrics.
So yes, it all comes together in a perfect performance.
Thanks Soryang!
