While that was happening the news just ran with serious stuff. I really think they should have shown more of that. The centrifugal force one was really good.

I guess these were not shown in order not to embarrass the astronauts or the country. But that was delightful. Learning how to walk, fall, and get back up included.

I watched every single EVA that was broadcast back then. I was obsessed with spaceflight and the moon missions.

A lot of the later missions after Apollo 11 had moon walk broadcasts at 2 or 3 in the morning on the east coast. I used to set my alarm and turn on our 1 color tv to watch, hoping not to wake up my parents. The golf shot, the Lunar Rover, and some of these spills were all shown on tv.
I am so thankful I got to see it live.

I sure wasn't up in the middle of the night to watch. Probably my loss.
