Number of civilians killed in Gaza 'inflated to vilify Israel

I think we all strongly suspected this. Posting it here to avoid the antisemetic backlash and "It's from a right wing think tank" to this truth.

Researchers accuse the Gaza ministry of health of overstating casualty data by including natural deaths, failing to differentiate between civilian and combat casualties and over-reporting the numbers of women and children killed.

The study by the Henry Jackson Society, a think tank, claims the figures have been manipulated by the Hamas-run authorities in Gaza for propaganda purposes, with international media outlets happy to repeat them uncritically.

The Gaza ministry of health has estimated that more than 44,000 people have been killed since Israel launched its military response to the Oct 7 Hamas attacks. The Henry Jackson Society found that, based on Israeli and US military and intelligence reports, around 17,000 of these were Hamas fighters, but claims that this has been frequently overlooked in media reports.

Its report states: “The ministry of health, operating under Hamas, has systematically inflated the death toll by failing to distinguish between civilian and combatant deaths, over-reporting fatalities among women and children and even including individuals who died before the conflict began.

... You even heard crickets! Kinda blows the Israel and Jew hatred all too common these dark days. I can't help but look forward to the cognitive dissonance when (if) Israel takes out Iran's nuclear weapons facilities.

When Israel...
Thursday

... Has destroyed the terrorist networks in the middle east,

...has helped bring Syria into the 21st century

... Has destroyed Iran's nuclear capabilities

... Has made a return to a democratic Iran possible

.. Has helped the Kurds live safer lives

... Has helped more countries into the Abrahamic accord

.. Has gotten the hostages freed

... Has made Gaza free of hamas and safe for Gazans

... Has helped rebuild Gaza into a place its residents have a chance to flourish

... Has eliminated Hezbollah

... And much more...

People will still hate the Jews.

What a frickin weird world this is.

To a cease fire until trump is in the White House and then he can do as he wants. Is that why netanyaho held up a map that showed Gaza, West Bank, Golan Heights and part of Syria as belonging to Israel. Netanyaho wants all Palestinians out of Gaza no matter how.

Terrorist activity will always be part of the Middle East. Israel has not gotten rid of h amas or hezbula.

The hostages families know netanyaho doesn't care about them or he would have done something to try and free them. I could on and on about what is happening to Innocent Palestinians and thank goodness someone has brought in mental health people to help children who have been traumatized, and have seen many of their relatives slaughtered in front of them. I'm sure Israel has done the same for their children after 10/7.

I know this post is making me very unpopular, however, I believe the truth about what is happening there has been buried because netanyaho doesn't want the truth known. That is why 175 journalists have been killed in Gaza, and why there are protests everywhere. It isn't because people hate the Jewish people, they don't, they hate what is happening in Gaza.
It is just wrong. This will be my last post and will leave DU, I can't believe how some here condone what is going on and don't believe the truth. I loved my time here, but it is time to leave.

But, we don't need that 'splained to us in the JEWISH GROUP. We already know this and your FIRST post in the JEWISH GROUP is a non-starter.

Way to go! Yay JEWISH GROUP!

And while we agree that "Israel does not equal all Jews. Not every Jew approves of what Israel is doing." perhaps you should be EXPLAINING that to those who are attacking Jews because THEY don't understand.

Is that an unknown but likely substantial number of children were Hamas terrorists. Here is a 13 year old killed today in a battle with the PA. So crickets. Were he killed by the IDF, there would be outrage.

9. Poll: Majority of Israelis support deal ending Gaza war for release of all hostages
Sun Dec 15, 2024, 03:09 AM
Dec 15

Anew poll published by Channel 12 news on Friday indicated that the majority of Israelis would support ending the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza in exchange for the release of all the hostages being held by Hamas as Israeli and US officials expressed optimism this week that an agreement was close to being signed.

The deal currently on the table reportedly does not involve the release of all the hostages in exchange for a permanent ceasefire, but 72% of respondents in the poll said they would support such an agreement while 15% said they opposed such a deal and the remaining 13% said they did not know.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has until now insisted that Israel would not agree to the key Hamas demand end the war in Gaza as part of the deal.

Among Netanyahu’s constituents, a majority (56%) also said they would support such a deal while 24% opposed it and 20% said they didn’t know.

A Wall Street Journal report on Thursday said the deal that was discussed this week would see some 30 hostages released in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire and Israel releasing a yet undetermined number of Palestinian prisoners from its prisons.

... All the hostages must be released. Hamas must surrender or be destroyed. A cease fire is simply a way for them to regroup and rearm. Then October 7, rinse and repeat. There can't be peace with those who would sacrifice their children and future for the sole reason to kill more Jews.

As reasonable and civilized people, this is hard to comprehend, but we ignore it at our peril. This won't help.
