When the planet Venus is in retrograde, you will be prompted to pull back from external concerns and social activity and turn within to redefine your values. Relationships are a big focus during any Venus retrograde period. When Venus is retrograde, sometimes a relationship from your past will reappear — either from earlier years in this life or from a prior life. Therefore you may meet someone "new," who at the same time feels very familiar to you. It will be a powerful time to re-examine any love relationships that come back into your life. There may be more experiences to share with that person for a sense of completion to occur.

That said, it's not good timing to make major relationship changes, so act with caution if you begin to feel dissatisfied with a current relationship. If you were not feeling this way before Venus retrograde, it's possible that things are blown out of proportion in your mind right now. Take space if you need it, and plan to review your situation after Venus goes direct on April 12, 2025. This Venus Retrograde cycle may feel especially intense as it overlaps with a Mercury retrograde cycle that will last from March 15 - April 7 and two Eclipses this month (stay tuned for more information on these upcoming events)!

From March 1 - 26, Venus will be retrograde in the feisty sign of Aries. Take care not to dredge up conflicts from the past during these days. It will be better to focus on what you need at this time, without having to spend excess energy fighting with others. On March 27, Venus will retrograde back into the sign of Pisces, activating our empathy and ability to forgive. The end of the month could be a time to heal from past relationships or rifts in any current partnerships.

If you do reunite with someone from your past, it's quite possible that you'll be reminded why this person was no longer in your life. This will be a great time to gain closure and release anger or resentment you may have been holding on to for a long time. Some people end up reconciling and restarting their relationship after a Venus retrograde cycle.

During Venus Retrograde, you will be reassessing what's important to you. What is it that you would like to really experience in your closest relationships? Have you been falling into a pattern of catering to others at the expense of pursuing your own independent life goals? Are you allowing time for activities you enjoy doing on your own?

You may also become more aware of how you are expressing yourself in your relationships. You can begin to glimpse the behaviors you are exhibiting that are either attractive or off-putting to others. During this time period, you can discover yourself and relationship preferences — what's important to you at this point in your life — at a deeper level.

Venus retrograde is always a time to be conservative with your finances. Work with what you have and see how you can make the most of your existing resources. It will be a great time to deal with financial agreements from the past, whether you owe or need to collect a debt. And, the energy is also favorable for renegotiating an existing agreement.

Venus also rules aesthetics and beauty, so this isn't the time for major changes to your personal appearance, especially if it involves something permanent such as a tattoo or plastic surgery. It could also be a frustrating time to make big aesthetic upgrades to your home or office. Indecision and miscommunications about how things should look will be more likely during this time. Rearrange the furniture or art that's on your walls rather than initiating a totally new look.

For single people, this Venus retrograde cycle is ideal for getting to know someone slowly. I've known couples who met during Venus retrograde to have very happy relationships when they kept things at the friendship level until Venus went direct. It will be a good time to learn about a potential partner's past and discover if you have similar values. If attached, this Venus retrograde cycle will be a great opportunity to review your current relationship and see if you're both headed in the same direction.

If you and a loved one have committed to go the long haul together, this will be a key time to compare what each of your visions of the future look like to see if they match up. Financial management, earning, and spending could be areas where you clash, and it will be important to get on the same page about your future financial goals and security.

Use the available energy of this cycle to solidify and celebrate the people who have been there for you through thick and thin. Venus retrograde isn't just about problems from the past, it's also about your past success. If you and friends, partners, or professional colleagues have been working hard towards a common goal, this can be quite a rewarding time period to enjoy the fruits of your labors.
