They are like oppositionally defiant toddlers, well through (chronological) "adulthood."
Not sure where you are, so pls don't take this personally, but I'm pretty sure people who have never been subjected to this unique population can even fathom that this violent reactive behavior is their problem-solving MO: fists, guns, threats, vandalism, etc.
I could never have imagined such meanness & malad+aptive behavior, tbh, until moving to a red shithole.
Surreal doesn't even come close to describing their behavioral dynamics.
If they like your car, they vandalize (or steal!) It. If they don't like it, they vandalize it or steal it, and feel 100% justified - even proud - for having done so!
Perhaps why they continue to run their mouths on TV & radio, despite common sense & the advice of their attorneys.
The closest I can come to describing it is Conduct Disorder, an adolescent mental health diagnosis with an extremely poor prognosis for treatment &, most often, evolves from Oppositional Defiant Disordet in younger kids, into anti-social personality disorder. Prisons are all filled with people so diagnosed.
