(22,845 posts)Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox.
Except in the Orthodox Church, which celebrates Easter on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox after Passover.
There is no such thing as a Spring solstice. There are summer and winter solstices, spring and fall equinoxes.

Easter Day would fall on the next full moon after the spring equinox, decided by the bishops, this year, April 20, as Full Moon is on April 15.

(4,788 posts)Spring equinox is on March 20th this year. Summer solstice is in June. Thanks to the Synod of Whitby in the 7th century (give or take a few years), the western Christian way to determine Easter was agreed to. Easter is on the 1st Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox.
