Related: About this forumSuggestions for a beach town with Amtrak access,
New England or south, for my daughter in s NJ, with 1 year old who doesn't like car travel? They're looking for a long weekend, maybe more.
I've told them about Amtrak's Maine, + Cape Cod, + Hamptons/Montauk, but don't want to miss anything.
Thanks

Wells Beach is also nice, but a couple of miles from the station.

But the train does go directly there and there are many, many more stores than there were 30 years ago.
