I know it's early, but I thought it'd be fun to talk about the best and worst transfers of the year so far. My favorites are:
1) Mesut Ozil to Arsenal. He and Olivier Giroud will combine to do significant damage to Premier League goalkeepers' egos this winter. IMO he is the best CAM in the world right now.
2) Ricky van Wolfswinkel to Norwich City. He is exactly the type of player the team needs up front, and if they sack up and employ a more aggressive approach I think he will turn into this year's Michu.
3) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Dortmund. He will ultimately replace Robert Lewandowski, but for now he's making the loss of Mario Goetze much easier for Dortmund fans to stomach. He will be a very good one for the Busy Bees.
My least favorites are:
1) Thiago to FC Bayern. My favorite team spent over 20 million Euros on a guy that, frankly, we just don't need. This is a real head scratcher to me.
2) Neymar to Barcelona. Why on earth did they do this? The side needs defenders in the worst way, and I'm pretty sure they're covered at striker even without Neymar.
3) Clint Dempsey to Seattle Sounders. He was doing just fine in the UK, and his experience there would only help the US progress in the WC.

(6,261 posts)Agreed on Ozil and RvW. I'd possibly add Eriksen to Spurs, even on the evidence of one game. They hadn't scored from open play yet so far, but Eriksen has added some nice creativity.
Agreed also on Dempsey. Not a good move in my opinion at this stage of his career. Hopefully he'll get a loan deal in the off-season so he can keep playing up until the WC. He didn't look great against Mexico.

(488 posts)And with Bitey McBiterson now back in the lineup, they will only get better. Is it too early for them to book a place in the 2014-2015 UCL?
If Coutinho comes back strong and we get a defencive midfield player in January things look really good but 6 games in anything could happen. I think for the first time in 20 years liverpool are on the right track. Back line is sorted now-Glenn Johnson is still a big miss- Rogers does make adjustments, this 3-5-2 even without coutinho and johnson looks like it will be even better once they come back. Sturridge and Moses are inspired signings and Coutinho for 8 million all day! Get in!
