(21,268 posts)If you are looking for a boat anchor that is also a conversation starter.
Seriously though more information is needed. Why are you looking to purchase a pistol, what is its intended use and what if any shooting experience do you have.

Hi-Point uses a blowback system rather than a Locking System. That means the slide is necessarily heavier. It tends to add weight to the gun and make it top heavy which can be awkward.
The triggers are moderately heavy; there are worse but there are many better.
Accuracy is nothing to write home about, you would not want to use it in competition. I have heard varying opinions on reliability which makes me question it as well.
The magazines tend to stick and not fall free so it takes time to pull it out. Also the slide does not lock open when it is empty so you tend to find the gun is out of ammo when the trigger goes click.
If you're looking for a gun to just throw bullets thataway and plinking on the Range it is cheap, so it has that going for it. If you are looking for something for self-defense you have to consider is your life worth saving a few dollars on a gun that may not function when you need it.

(21,268 posts)hitting such a target 60-70% first shot, near 100% in two. Not that I even condone such action but I would point out a .22 will easily go thru a tire with less noise than a 9mm.

(374 posts)but Minnesotans can buy silencers. Also 9s are more fashionable than .22s. No one ever holds a .22 sideways!
