There is never a same hit, but on a nice September night the big hits seemed to have less of a zing to them than a cold November afternoon. The ground was softer ( although now that everything is turf I dont think that matters any) and you were just not as stiff. Any long drive by the opposite team was hell as I could feel my body stiffening up in the cold.
