Double standard for Black NFL coaches. Jerod Mayo's firing shows it.

"But Black Monday started a day early this year. The New England Patriots pink-slipped head coach Jerod Mayo before Fox’s NFL broadcast crew wrapped Sunday afternoon’s early slate of games, a sign the Patriots were only waiting for players on their 4-13 squad to hit the showers before they delivered the news. Rob Gronkowski, a former Patriots star-turned-TV analyst, was apoplectic.

“I mean, he never had the chance to develop as a head coach. He was just a rookie himself in that department, and if you judge a coach in their first year, that’s really not appropriate,” Gronkowski said, turning to former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson and pointing out that Johnson won only one game in his first year but ultimately won two Super Bowls during his five years with the team."

Who might win two or three more games next year, and that will be "proof positive" that Kraft was right, and it won't be about race as it is never about race!

When I finding myself sharing thoughts with Ron Gronkowski I know all is crazy with the world!

Mayo was reportedly earning $3.5 million per season with the Patriots, which made him the 18th-highest-paid head coach in the NFL (tied with Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel).

It’s unclear exactly how many years Mayo had remaining on his contract, but the Patriots will continue to pay him over the next few seasons.

Mayo’s promotion initially sparked some controversy, as the Patriots did not interview any external candidates. He was promoted because of a clause in his contract that said he would succeed Belichick. Robert Kraft reportedly spent years preparing Mayo to take over, so it’s somewhat shocking that he was given just one year at the helm of the team.
