Aside from the offsides the guards and tackles are way off the ball in the backfield to get an advantage blocking for the pass.

when there's a blatant infraction of the rules, the refs see and correctly interpret said infraction and then, you know, do their jobs. It's just not fair.

And the same complaint was raised.

The refs do need to be consistent. I understand that there is indeed a sort of custom of refs warning receivers when they line up offside.

It would be better to just throw flags and make the players responsible, so they can't say, "But you didn't warn me..." Everyone would adjust.
