Temp 33 and felt like 28 (if you were standing still)and snow, snow mixed with rain for most of the ride. One of those, "been there done that bought the T-shirt rides."
And I was slow 4:30 moving time, 5:15 clock time (it's an official event).
Nice ride though. 2022 Winter Solstice Populaire.

(1,690 posts)I felt slow, and for all that, there were people who did the 200K. They could still be out on the course as I type. I did the math, 8:00 start time, 10 hours in the saddle means about 2 hours in the dark. I respect the folks that did the 200k, but I'm OK being wimpy in this case.

Bit of a chilly endeavor! I have to ask, what kind of tires do you ride in such weather? Are you on fat tires?

(1,690 posts)So not that wide. I usually have Continental Gator Skins 32s, but they are a bit less grippy in the rain so this is my winter tire.
I stopped riding ages ago, not that I did that much. Once your shoulders are shot, riding isn't really doable anymore.
