Woods and Waters - Bud Leavitt interviewing Bill Lee

So, a friend sent me this link to an MPBN video achieve.

(1) The 1st segment is Bud Leavitt talking with Bill Lee. It's a classic 20 minute interview with Bill Lee, the best pitcher of the 70's Red Sox, IMHO. Bill is totally into the moment with Bud....he probably sprinkled some pot on his pancakes before he sat down for this conversation. Bill talks about his problems with Don Zimmer. "He's a hitter, I'm a pitcher."

(2) The next video was an early take on water water rafting up on the Kennebec. I did this same trip in the early 90's. the 1st 15 minutes are sheer terrifying exhilaration - culminating with the Magic Falls drop; the rest of the trip was a mellow saunter down the ricer tied to the raft, drinking some cold beers alog the way.

Bill Lee, El Tiante, Rick Wise, Diego Sugi,

I would spend hours in my driveway working on my Louie Tiant wind up.

Has to be totally disruptive to the hitter. Ball is completely hidden until Louis rotated into the pitch. What a rhythm. And to think Jerry Remy was playing with these guys...and a whole lot more interesting characters....Dewey Evans, Freddie Lynn, Jim Rice - I'm looking at you!

Spaceman.
For obvious reasons. He was as wild and crazy as any hippie running around Haight Ashbury.
