Can the Japanese beat our best in the World Seies?

I just watched the Japanese All Stars kick our MLB ass in Tokyo. So, should we play the world after we win the World Series? Thinking we should...it is the World Series, after all.

A random National or American leaugue champion?

Or are you asking if their series winner could beat ours?

They have done very well in international play - winning the championship twice.

My opinion is yes an all star team could win - occasionally - but it would depend on match ups.

The NPB Series winner would need to catch lightning in a bottle to do it.

I still watch the high scholl tournament as often as i can.

Japanese baseball is good baseball.

A baseball team playing all season is a much different beast than an all star team. Japanese players who were stars in Japan have come to MLB and were marginal players, except for two or three, including one surefire Hall of Famer.
