In life we all have a running clock on our lifespan. No such thing in baseball. Timeless.

(15,632 posts)Last time I went to a ball game was when I worked in an office, and the managers were "rewarding" us by taking us to our town's minor league game. I asked if I could just go home early. Nope. Go to the game or stay at work. Most of us were computer programmers/nerds so we had our various books, games, portable devices, cards etc. that we could entertain ourselves with in the stands, but while the managers were cheering, we were audibly groaning when the game went into extra innings.

(15,632 posts)And blaming their problems on Milllennials like paper napkins. Apparently M's are only buying paper towels and don't see the point of buying both. Also engagement rings as they don't like the ethics behind the diamond trade. Golf courses blame them for not taking up an expensive hobby.
All of this actually is fine with me. I'm kind of hoping they'll have the same effect on professional sports. I'm sick of hearing from whiny millionaires, half of whom are probably hopped up on something, whose job it is to play a game.

(26,850 posts)I'm a Boomer myself, and about 40 years ago we were blamed for all the current ills. Blaming the younger generation is stupid. Yeah, each generation is a bit different, and grows up in different circumstances.
Horse racing is a dying sport in no small part because younger people for a long time now just haven't been very interested in it. Tracks have closed or greatly reduced the length of their season.

Only problem I have with Millennials is two different ones working at two different Subways, got on my case about what I ordered. Usually, it's a club sandwich with EVERY vegetable except olives. The two times they criticized me was when I also got a cookie.

(26,850 posts)ever screwed up an order.
There are incompetent people out there. There are those who weren't properly trained for the job. It's fairly common for young people, just starting out in the work force, not to be very committed to the job they have. And so on.
We were all young once. We were all once new at the job. But each generation goes through this.
