The character in the hit show "Seinfeld," played by Jason Alexander, is having his own bobblehead giveaway on July 5 for Seinfeld night. The show's first episode aired on July 5, 1989.
The first 18,000 fans to the Yankees matchup against the Boston Red Sox will receive the bobblehead. The figurine includes Costanza in his batting stance while wearing a dress shirt and pants combination.

A few years ago the San Francisco Giants honored Duane Kuiper's only career home run with a bobblehead. Kuiper is the long-time Giants play-by-play television announcer. He was depicted wearing an Indians jersey. It was the first time the Giants honored a player from another team.
Has Cleveland ever honored Joe Tait or Tom Hamilton?

(35,417 posts)TY Auggie for this! Is this your bobblehead?
Im sure the Indians/Guardians or perhaps the Cavs have honored Joe Tait with a bobble. They may have put one out for Tom Hamilton, too, I just cant keep track of them all.
Wanna see my bobblehead collection?

That's not my Kuiper bobblehead, though a friend of mine is disposing of his 100,000 baseball card collection and sent me several vintage Indians cards, including one for Kuiper from 1981.
BTW (and unrelated), I thought Sandy Alomar would have been a natural to replace Francona, but the team hired Vogt instead. Do you know of any story behind that?

(35,417 posts)I read that Sandy declined to be interviewed for the mgr. job. Apparently he likes being first base/infield/catching coach. How much truth is there I dont know, but thats what I read in the Plain Dealer.
Did you notice my Indians Pez dispenser?
As an aside
. I found something here you might enjoy.

Special thanks for the link. Lot of fun. I remember the sports folks and WMMS crew mostly. Loved Pete Franklin. He had a 1991-1997 gig on radio in San Francisco. I grew up with Franklin in Cleveland so it was a bonus to have him in the Bay Area at the tail end of his career, though I think a lot of the crowd here couldn't appreciate his style and format the way Ohio did.
Thanks Diamond_Dog. Getting ready to "play ball."
