Blake Snell to SF Giants, 2 years, $62M with opt-out

But the Giants lose legendary PA announcer Renel Brooks-Moon, in what seems to be a contract impasse, but could be more (below)

The park won't seem the same.

Giants management has "disappeared" all vestiges of people put in place by Brian Sabean, and the owner is a well known RWNJ, deafer than deaf to the community. (Speculation)

Two reporters confirm the Snell deal. Just showed up on his IG page with a photoshopped Giants jersey.

Adding Blake Snell, Matt Chapman, Jung Hoo Lee, Jorge Soler, and Nick Ahmed, the team should be competitive in a strong division.

A day of good news and bad news.

One person noted: "My Dad was upset at a female PA announcer. Today, he's sad she's leaving."

According to the San Francisco Chronicle:

the signing puts the Giants above the Collective Bargaining Tax as a first-time payor as of now and for the first time since 2017. The number is calculated officially at the end of the year, but the organization will have to pay 20% on every dollar over the $237 million threshold if it remains over the limit.

Happy to get Snell but the salary expenditures will always bug me.
