I recently bought a car that has wired android auto (and apple car play)

and I have seen several ads for devices that would permit my wired car to have wireless. I have a few questions for you all.

One, are these devices for real?

Two, are they worth it or is the connection weak enough that they aren't worth it.

Three, which device is best?

just realize android/apple use those (wired and wireless) to track your every drive, take your contact list, take your messages, take EVERY bit of info that can be scraped from your phone, upload it all to data dealers etc.

I mostly listen to music, news, and the like of that. Since I get those through Sirius that data is likely out there anyhow. the car has a decent navigation system so I can use it, google maps or waze but all of those likely to traffic in my trip data.

if you can read your messages on your phone, then connect to airplay etc, it reads all your messages and sells them.

also. when/if you sell the car, you also have to go thru the procedure to erase all your data from the car…or risk that whoever buys your car from taking that data also.

To run our phones in the car. No data is transfered. Just power USB ports also don't transfer data.
