(24,626 posts)5.5 liter engine is a bit over 335.6 Cubic Inches. So getting 1064 HP out of it is a bit more than 3 HP to the cubic inch!

(19,703 posts)with people getting hurt or killed, it would not surprise me if law enforcement agencies some day will
want cars manufactured with a top speed of say 85 mph and police cars with a 100 mph limit.

(24,626 posts)specifically one equipped with OnStar, like my 2024.
If it gets stolen I can call OnStar, locate the vehicle and when a cop gets behind it, have it shut down.
It's not too far a technological leap to being able to do that to any vehicle at any time.

(4,889 posts)Time to use that to limit speeds, especially in built up areas.

(64,651 posts)The price, with dealer markups, will be ridiculous and stay ridiculous. Once it gets to the $250k-300k, which I'm sure it will, you find yourself at a price point: new Corvette or a couple year old Lamborghini Huracan or year old 911 Turbo. The Corvette might get to 60 slightly faster, but it's still (in that present company) just a Corvette (full disclosure: I've owned two, I love them).
I hope they sell a million of them so I can pick one up barely used a couple years later at a deep discount.

(24,626 posts)But there are several YouTubers who are saying the market has leveled out and is trending down for the C8.
Of course the ZR-1 will likely open that back up again, so it's up to the buyer to refuse to pay those dealer markups. Hopefully Chevrolet will do what it can to stop the dealers from gouging.

(64,651 posts)but the upper level models like the Z06 are still $10k over MSRP new, and used are selling at MSRP. Ordinary C8s are hitting the 2 years old, $65k-70k area, hardly driven (idiots). I'm sure there are deals to be had at a Manheim auction, that sort of thing.
