Patriots' Stefon Diggs pleads not guilty to strangulation, assault charges

DEDHAM, Mass. (WPRI) – New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs faced a judge Friday morning, less than a week after playing in Super Bowl LX.

Diggs was arraigned on charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery.

A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf and he was ordered to stay away from the victim, including third-party contact. Diggs was released on personal recognizance and is due back in court on April 1.

The charges stem from a pay dispute with his private chef last year. She said what started as a text message exchange came to a head when Diggs went into her room on Dec. 2, 2025. As they discussed the dispute, the chef claimed Diggs got angry and smacked her across the face.
