LSU Star Flau'jae Johnson to Help Wipe Out $5 Million in Debt for Louisiana Families

Rising LSU Tigers star Flau'jae Johnson is joining forces with Experian to help clear $5 million of debt for families in Louisiana.

As the company announced on Friday, March 14, Johnson will serve as a company spokesperson for Experian's five million consumer debt relief initiative, which will directly help 5,000 families in the state. In addition to her career as one of the top stars in women's college basketball—and her music—Johnson is a junior business major, making her the perfect figure to help promote financial literacy.

"You know what's bigger than basketball? Financial empowerment," Johnson said in a new commercial. "Finances are tough, and Experian is helping the next generation pursue their dreams. That's why I'm excited to announce Experian is wiping out five million of debt for families in Louisiana. ... Money isn't everything, but you need it to live a good life. The Experian app can help you save time and money, build your credit and help you gain more knowledge in finances."

In a press release, she continued, "It's hard to create a winning financial game plan when you are blocked by debt. I am excited to partner with Experian to empower families in the state and across the country so they can become financial champions of their future."

Some of these college athletes are naive and are going to get bad advice, IMO. Some of them are already representing insurance companies, for example, and insurance companies aren't always the most honest brokers these days.
