Vikings-Rams wild-card game on Monday moved to Arizona due to Los Angeles-area fires

The NFL on Thursday announced that, in the importance of public safeness, the Minnesota Vikings-Los Angeles Rams wild-card game on Monday night has been moved from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The change of venue comes as Southern California is dealing with multiple wildfires.

"In the interest of public safety, Monday's Vikings-Rams Wild Card game has been moved from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA to State Farm Stadium, the home of the Arizona Cardinals, the NFL announced today," the statement read, in part.

"The decision was made in consultation with public officials, the participating clubs and the NFLPA."

home insurance policies over the past couple of years in the now-burned areas... a factoid which will not be uttered by the broadcast team when discussing that the game was moved and why.

is it really a case of the NFL being worried about the safety of those traveling to SoFi, or are they maybe more concerned with the optics of them having essentially a big party for their eleventy-billion dollar business while the neighborhood burns and people lose their homes? The cynic in me wants to suggest the latter, but I'm hoping that those that live there can set me straight.
