Steelers trading Pickett in draft pick swap
The Steelers are trading Kenny Pickett to the Eagles in a pick swap, a team source confirms with me and Chris Halicke.
Pickett preferred to move on once the Steelers signed Wilson, per an ESPN report. The NFL Network added the Steelers indicated that Wilson would be the presumptive starting quarterback, rather than have a competition.
According to ESPN, the Steelers are receiving pick No. 98 overall in this April's draft and two seventh-round picks in 2025. The Eagles receive Pickett and the 120th pick in this draft.

(6,630 posts)He didn't want to compete for the job, it was his.
Once they signed Wilson, he asked out.
As such, he went to The Eagles to be buried the next 2 years until he can be a free-agent
When he refused to suit up as emergency qb it was a death sentence.
I'm sure there was more to it than this, also

(17,280 posts)would admit a mistake so soon! He WAS a first round pick - and not many 'experts' had Pickett placed as a first round pick. There are other 'reports' of his displeasure of not finishing last season when he 'thought' he was fit and ready.
Too bad they didn't do anything to try to keep Mason Rudolph......................
