So I am building a new crypto coin... this is not intended as a shameless plug for it... though it should be.. but this is the writing forum so this is just the story and I won't discuss anything about the Crypto itself... bad or good... any opinions for or against crypto is not what I am looking for in the Writing forum. I am developing a backstory for the coins and wanted to see what others thought of it.
The idea is to create a different sort of coin that uses Greed as positive force. I wanted a myth that mimics a real story... and feels contemporaneous with the world today.
I have created a sort of Greek Myth that describes how the dynamics of the economics play out, that is the design... anyway:
In the days when gods still walked among men, there lived two divine brothers—Kairos, swift and elusive, the god of opportune moments, and Chronos, steady and eternal, the god of time itself. Though both were sons of the primordial forces, they could not be more different. Kairos moved like the wind, seizing fleeting chances, his golden locks ever flowing, his feet never touching the ground. Chronos, by contrast, bore the weight of inevitability, his measured steps carving the rhythms of existence itself.
For eons, their rivalry shaped the world. Kairos, with his insatiable hunger, sought to grasp all wealth, power, and glory in the brief windows where fate allowed. He whispered to mortals, driving them to seize their moments, to act in greed, to take what they could before time slipped away. Meanwhile, Chronos watched, patient as the mountains, reminding mortals that all things pass, that unchecked greed led to ruin, that wisdom lay in understanding time's vast river rather than chasing every fleeting drop.
Their struggle came to a head in the mortal city of Ephyra, a city of merchants and scholars, wealth and wisdom. The people were divided—some followed Kairos, building fortunes overnight, striking deals with lightning speed, hoarding riches and seizing every advantage. Others heeded Chronos, building slowly, measuring their steps, choosing patience and balance over reckless ambition. The city flourished for a time, but as Kairos’ followers amassed untold wealth, greed turned to excess. Markets collapsed, famine struck, and those who once worshipped opportunity now cursed their own impulsiveness.
Seeing this, Chronos descended from the heavens, his voice slow and deep as rolling thunder. He chided the people of Ephyra, reminding them that time rewards patience and punishes those who seek to take everything all at once. But Kairos, ever defiant, laughed.
"Brother, you would have mortals crawl when they could fly. You would have them wait when they could take! What is wealth if not used? What is power if not seized?"
Chronos sighed. "And what is gold if hoarded to death? What is power if burned in reckless haste? Opportunity without wisdom leads only to waste."
To settle their feud once and for all, the gods issued a challenge. Kairos would rule the city alone for one cycle of the moon, free to drive the people as he wished. Then Chronos would rule the next cycle, setting the pace of life by his own terms. And in the end, the people of Ephyra would choose their true god.
Under Kairos’ rule, the city erupted into a frenzy. Fortune seekers took risks with wild abandon, traders struck deals at breakneck speed, and wealth flooded the streets. For a time, prosperity seemed infinite. But the markets soon turned to chaos, reckless greed gave way to panic, and in their desperation to outpace time, the people exhausted their own resources.
When Chronos took control, he slowed everything. No transaction was made in haste, no venture was taken without deep thought. The people of Ephyra grew steady, their riches carefully measured, their power methodically built. Stability replaced chaos. But soon, stagnation set in. Without the fire of ambition, the city grew complacent, slow to adapt, fearful of seizing the great chances that fate offered.
When the time came for the people to choose their god, they could not. For neither was whole without the other. Without Kairos, there was no fire to move forward. Without Chronos, there was no structure to sustain it. And so, they built twin temples, equal in splendor, and worshipped both, vowing never again to separate the wisdom of time from the urgency of opportunity.
From that day forward, Ephyra became the most powerful city in the world, where those who struck fast did so with wisdom, and those who built with patience never lost sight of their fleeting moments.
For in the dance of gods and mortals alike, the lesson was clear: Greed and wisdom must walk together, for neither can rule alone.
SPECIAL NOTE: Without knowing the structure or the purpose of my crypto... which I have left completely out of the dialogue it is bizarre to have a discussion on the nature of crypto in general. IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT MY CRYPTO DOES, YOU CAN HAVE NO OPINION ON IF ITS GOOD OR BAD. ALL CRYPTO IS NOT THE SAME!!! PLEASE LEARN ABOUT CRYPTO BEFORE ATTACKING ME AND MY WORK.
You are free to discuss the nature of greed and wisdom and how it applies to economics but attacking a computer program without knowing what it does is just bizarre and childish. I have made the topic very clear... I only care about the nature of Greed as a positive force and I wanted to capture that in my story. If you are not here to help me with my writing... which I have made clear, I intend use for my work... then you will be IGNORED... I'm way too foul mouthed to get into unnecessary arguments.

(55,147 posts)about crypto and Trump's interest in it and what crypto bros spend to try to buy politicians - to help you polish something you've written to glorify greed and help you sell your own crypto coin?
Seriously?

(4,458 posts)Pretending greed doesn't exist is ridiculous. Accepting greed as a reality and taking that energy and redirecting it does not have to be evil... your assumptions are wrong.

(55,147 posts)advertising copy so you can profit from your crypto.
From journalist Gil Duran, as quoted in the first of the DU threads I just linked to in another reply here:

(4,458 posts)in the writing forum. I honestly don't give a shit about Chump and his opinions on crypto... Crypto is financial freedom and the sheeple have no idea... Chump and co want to control it so they can control you... and you are helping them.

(55,147 posts)That's complete nonsense.
Anyway, I would like EarlG's opinion on this, so I've emailed him the link to this thread and the text of your OP.

(4,458 posts)I am not asking you to buy or promote it at all... you are afraid of crypto without even knowing what mine does or the utility of it...

(55,147 posts)You're asking DUers interested in writing to give you feedback, help, with promotional material to sell your crypto. I worked in the NYC office of Masius Wynne-Williams in the 1970s and your little backstory is advertising, even if it doesn't say "Buy this crypto."
And you did write in the OP:
That is a plug for it. So are your comments here praising crypto.

(4,458 posts)That is a very interesting view... I hadn't considered that... because Chump likes the idea of something that he clearly does not understand... it has to be evil.. I get your logic now.

(4,458 posts)You are out of your mind... your fear mongering is helping him.... all governments fear crypto... for a good reason. Now fear is their last weapon against it... and you are willfully helping them. All they need to do to get you to be afraid of something is to get Chump to be for it...

(4,458 posts)Otherwise... my post stands... and EarlG or the mod of the Writing Forum can ban me but again... you know nothing of my system and are only attacking a DUer based on your fear of the word crypto.
----------
And the backstory will be promo material... you are correct... which is WHY I WANTED DUer's opinions on Greed and Wisdom... so they could help me craft a better story... not so I can rip people off... you are way off base.
-----
You do know that not everyone who works in the crypto industry is evil and supports Chump and co... some of us are actually working towards a better world but can't get anyone to listen...
Sound familiar?
---
Assuming that everyone who makes their living off of crypto is evil and villainous cheats is disgusting...
