An inventive biography of "Little Women" author Louisa May Alcott that mixes documentary, drama and animation, with the dialogue borrowed from writings and firsthand accounts. "I don't enjoy writing moral pap for the young. I do it because it pays well," Alcott.
WATCH THIS, if you can, on PBS.

(1,029 posts)was so important to me as a young girl. I loved Jos spirit and took to my attic with pen and paper.
As an adult it tickles me to know Alcott held no illusions about her work. I will hold onto it as an old friend who is tattered and outdated, but is a good old girl. Kind of like me.

It's just when they start marching all over the house, apparently re-enacting "Pilgrim's Progress", the point of which makes absolutely no sense, that I just lose all interest. It's stupid and boring and brings the book to a screeching halt.
I did like Little Men, so it's not as though I don't appreciate her altogether.
