Maybe it's time for a novel-writing month

Every year I think about doing National Novel Writing Month, but November is always a busy month for me, so I never have. But now I suddenly have time on my hands. Anyone want to join me for Coronavirus Novel-Writing April? I mean, we’re all shut in anyway, so if not now, when?

And you end up with 50,000 words at the end of the month. I tried it a few times and ended up not finishing (we always travel for Thanksgiving). But the organization is mostly about providing encouragement and support, not necessarily sharing each day's work. It's also about just getting the words on paper and not necessarily perfect writing. The editing and perfecting can be done after the month is completed. It's a good way to keep your butt in the chair every day.

I know I certainly don’t want anyone to see my first draft of anything. One month, 50,000 words, they don’t have to be good words.

i've seen group collaborations when a subject was introduced and a paragraph, page, chapter whatever was chosen, was written by different ppl, passed from one to the next to continue ...

I did NANO WRIMO a few times, but never finished because we always travel at Thanksgiving. I have a story that could use some attention. Maybe we could report in with a daily word count.

will be my novel-writing month. I mean, I'm isolating for the most part until April 30 which will probably get extended. And I have a couple of ideas for my third book.

I'm in!
