Ellington, CT, Man Charged After Firing 34 Rounds At A Speed Limit Sign

A local man faces multiple gun charges after police said he shot 34 rounds into an Ellington speed limit sign.

Alexander Czaja, 22, of Sandy Beach Road was charged Saturday with unlawful discharge of firearms, illegal carrying of a firearm under the influence of drugs and alcohol, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Police said Troop C in Tolland received numerous 911 calls from residents in the Crystal Lake area of Ellington reporting gun shots,
Ellington Police and State Police responded to the area and saw a make emerge from the woods carrying a long gun.

Police said they ordered Czaja to drop the gun and get to the ground, where they then hand cuffed him.
Czaja was found carrying two additional hand guns and was in possession of more than 25 rounds of .40 ammunition.

Police said Czaja had been drinking alcohol and was walking home from a friends house.
On his way home, he fired 11 rounds from a 12 gauge shot gun, 17 rounds from a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber and 6 rounds from a Smith and Wesson .357 revolver at a speed limit sign on Minor Hill Road.

Police said Czaja’s pistol permit was seized and the firearms were entered into evidence.
Czaja was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 27.

Liquored up and fired up - just acting out the boys will be boys behavior while enjoying his Rights to Practice the 2nd Amendment.

YEE-HAAA.

What is the problem here ?
