Not Florida-- drunken woman crashes twice and slugs guy who tries to help...

https://patch.com/new-york/shirley-mastic/drunken-driver-fled-after-striking-school-bus-trailer-cops

According to Suffolk Police, Luz Maria Fuentes was driving a 2004 Toyota Siena on Mastic Road, near Mastic Boulevard, when the minivan struck the rear of a mini school bus with three children and two adults on board at about 7:45 a.m.

Fuentes fled and, a short time later, her vehicle struck a trailer that was attached to a pickup truck traveling on Mastic Road, police said. Fuentes fled once again, police said. No one was hurt in the crashes.

A good Samaritan followed Fuentes to the parking lot of Island Cinemas, located at 1708 Montauk Highway, and confronted her. Fuentes punched the man in the face, police said.

Seventh Precinct officers responded and charged Fuentes, of Mastic, with DWI, harassment and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident. She will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.

I hope this person is sent to REHABILITATION to get over her "problem." The first DUI ain't bad. The second DUI is worst. A third DUI means a long time in jail. I think this lady will not be drinking for a "long" time. Treating the "cause" versus jail time means a repeat offender. The failure rate for rehabilitation is over 90%.
